More people than ever are turning to Reformer Pilates in Glasgow — and it’s easy to see why.

The practice is precise, intentional and deeply supportive. It asks for teachers who don’t just instruct, but attend to alignment, to breath, to the quiet details that shape how your body moves.

At The Holistic Warehouse, we want every client to feel supported the moment they step onto the Reformer, especially those walking in for the first time.

That’s why our teachers train together. It’s how we stay sharp. It’s how we stay connected. It’s how we grow.

Our recent workshop with Natasha Russell is one example of that commitment. Her session created a space for technique, dialogue and refinement. She reminded us that the smallest adjustments often make the biggest difference — in safety, in flow, in helping clients progress confidently.

In this article, we explore why Reformer Pilates demands continuous learning, what we covered in our session with Natasha, and why evolving our practice is essential to the experience we offer.

Why Reformer Pilates demands continuous learning

Reformer Pilates is a precision-led practice.

It asks teachers to guide clients not only through movement, but through a deeper understanding of the Reformer itself. Many see this Pilates apparatus as a “machine”. But it functions more like an extension of the body. And as with anything that feels like part of ourselves, it helps to know it well.

That’s where thoughtful instruction comes in. By demystifying the mechanics (spring settings, foot straps, the carriage), teachers help clients feel more centred, more capable and more connected to what they’re doing.

But technique is only part of the story. Great Reformer teaching also reveals why each movement matters. When instructors stay curious, update their knowledge and refine their approach, they grow in ways their clients can feel. Clear cueing, intelligent class planning and the ability to break down complex exercises into simple, meaningful steps all contribute to a richer, more empowering experience.

This is why ongoing learning sits at the heart of The Holistic Warehouse’s teaching culture. Our instructors are committed to deepening their understanding of the work. This is not a performance of expertise, but a practice that gives clients a richer, more confident experience on the Reformer. The more our teachers refine their craft, the more transformative each class becomes. And this commitment came into focus during our recent training session with Natasha Russel.

Focus is the key to great Reformer practice

Our instructors are centred, confident and caring - qualities that will shape your Pilates experience.

Case Study: THW’s recent Reformer teacher training session with Natasha RusselL

Natasha Russell — Pilates instructor, fitness trainer and a trusted coach to both athletes and fellow teachers — recently joined us at our Dalmarnock studio for an advanced Reformer instructor workshop.

Her focus was clear: refine technique, elevate cueing and bring a deeper sense of intention into class planning.

What unfolded was more than a workshop.

The room came alive with open minds, curiosity and creative energy.

There’s a particular kind of magic that happens when instructors show up ready to learn. Our team’s willingness to ask questions, explore movement with fresh eyes and push their own understanding of Reformer creates an atmosphere that reminds you why teaching is a craft.

Natasha’s session left us inspired and energised by our conversations, shared discoveries and collective commitment to continuing to be thoughtful, confident and intentional teachers.

This workshop is a vivid example of what continuous learning looks like at The Holistic Warehouse: grounded, generous and genuinely alive.

Continuous Reformer training: why it matters at THW

The session with Natasha made one thing unmistakably clear: our teachers are deeply committed to teaching at the highest level.

This commitment isn’t abstract. It’s what allows them to do what they love most — helping clients feel stronger, safer and more connected in their bodies through thoughtful, structured, inspiring Pilates.

At The Holistic Warehouse, that dedication is part of our culture. It comes from a place of serenity, care, community and genuine commitment to the people who walk through our doors. Continuous learning isn’t an add-on for us; it’s how we maintain our standards, evolve our craft and nurture a teaching community that lifts everyone involved.

So whether you’re stepping onto the Reformer for the first time or looking to deepen your practice, you can feel confident knowing our instructors are always growing — so you can grow with them. Every class is made for your whole being in mind.
