What is Lagree?
Lagree is a high-intensity, low-impact strength workout built around slow, resistance-based movement and time under tension.
Time under tension means your muscles work against resistance for longer. In Lagree, the slower pace keeps you in each movement, building intensity without relying on speed, momentum or high-impact exercise.
In class, you move against spring-loaded resistance on a Lagree Mini Pro machine. The movements are controlled, but the intensity builds quickly.
A Lagree class flows continuously for 45 minutes, with little rest between movements. You are asked to slow down and stay with each exercise rather than rush through it.
Lagree is often compared with Reformer Pilates because both use specialist equipment and spring resistance. But they are different methods. Reformer Pilates is rooted in the Pilates system, while Lagree is more focused on strength and endurance.
At THW Tradeston, your teacher talks you through the setup and each movement, so you can understand the machine and move with confidence.
-
Lagree is demanding, but it does not need to feel intimidating.
At The Holistic Warehouse Tradeston, your teacher will help you understand the machine, adjust your setup and find a level that feels right for you.
Lagree gives you intensity when you want it. At THW, it also sits within a wider way to move. Build control with Reformer Pilates, add strength and endurance with Lagree, then recover and reset through our heated classes.
The aim is to help you work hard in a way that supports your whole being.
-
It is normal to feel nervous before your first Lagree class. You are using a specialist machine, learning a new method and stepping into a workout with a reputation for being demanding.
You will not be expected to know what to do before you arrive. Your teacher will talk you through the machine setup and each movement, helping you adjust your position when needed.
Grip socks are essential for Lagree. Bring your own or buy a pair at the studio before class.
Expect a focused class that asks for effort, not performance. You do not need to be the strongest person in the room. You can pause, adjust and ask for help when you need it. You just need to be willing to try.
-
Lagree could be a good fit if you want a strength workout that still feels controlled. It challenges your muscles without high-impact movement, so it may suit you if you want to build strength without jumping or running.
You do not need previous Lagree experience to start. If you are new, your teacher will help you understand the machine and work at a manageable level.
Lagree may suit you if you already enjoy Reformer Pilates, Sculpt or strength-based classes and want something more demanding. It may also suit you if you are looking for a focused workout that helps you build strength and endurance over time.
If you are injured, pregnant, newly postnatal or managing a health condition, please contact us before booking. We will help you decide whether Lagree is right for you at the moment.

Lagree and Reformer Pilates both use spring-based equipment and controlled movement, but they are different methods.
Reformer Pilates is rooted in the Pilates system, with an emphasis on control, alignment and movement quality. It can help you:
Focus on alignment and movement quality
Build strength at a pace that varies by class
Develop awareness of how your body moves
Work with precision and support
Lagree is a more strength and endurance-focused workout. It can help you:
Build strength through slow, resistance-based movement
Challenge your muscles without high impact
Work with less rest between exercises
Feel the intensity build while staying in control
One is not better than the other. It depends on what you need. If you are looking for a more intense, strength-focused class at THW, Lagree is a good place to start.
