Why become a Lagree instructor? 5 reasons to consider Level 1 training
You love Lagree. You love the challenge. You love the way you feel afterwards.
We hear you. We loved it so much that we became teachers and opened a Lagree studio at THW Tradeston in Glasgow.
Have you ever thought about guiding the class?
You may already teach movement and want to add something new to your practice. Or perhaps teaching is an idea you’re only beginning to explore.
Whatever your reason, Level 1 training could be the start of your Lagree teaching story.
Here are five reasons to consider taking that step.
Lagree teachers training at The Holistic Warehouse, Tradeston, Glasgow
1. Take your interest in Lagree further
You know what a Lagree class feels like. But have you ever wondered why your instructor asks you to slow down? Or how a small change in position can make an exercise feel so different?
Training gives you time to explore those questions. You’ll learn the principles behind the movements and put them into practice on the machines.
As your understanding develops, so does your ability to explain what you’re doing. Your passion for Lagree then becomes something you can share with confidence.
2. Help other people feel more confident in class
Think back to your first Lagree class. You may have felt unsure about the machine or wondered whether you could keep up.
Clear advice or a little encouragement can make a real difference. And as a teacher, you can offer that support.
Level 1 training helps you develop your coaching skills. You’ll learn how to adapt movements for different abilities. You’ll begin to understand when someone needs an adjustment. You will be able to guide them through it with confidence.
Trust us: seeing someone move better after you’ve helped them is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.
3. Add a specialist method to your teaching
Already teach movement?
You may enjoy what you do and still feel ready to learn something new.
Lagree gives you another method to explore and the opportunity to broaden what you can teach.
Your experience of guiding a class gives you something to build on. Level 1 training introduces you to Lagree’s own principles and how to apply them in your teaching.
If you teach Pilates, this includes understanding what makes Lagree different.
Learning a new approach can also bring fresh interest to your work. You get to be a student again. You get to view your teaching habits and movement from a different perspective.
4. Explore a new direction in your working life
You may have never thought of yourself as a teacher. But enjoying Lagree might have made you wonder: could this be part of my working life?
You may also have considered a career change, or teaching alongside your current job.
At THW, we recommend having teaching experience, but it isn’t mandatory for Level 1 training.
The course gives you time to practise teaching with guidance. And that experience can help you understand what the role involves and where you’d like to take it.
5. Begin your Lagree teaching story
Learning doesn’t stop when the course ends. When you teach, you’ll notice what helps people move well. You’ll find ways to make your instructions clearer.
And you’ll discover questions you hadn’t thought to ask during training.
Level 1 is the beginning of that process. And access to the Lagree Academy means you can keep learning as your experience grows. Every class you teach becomes a moment to reflect on.
You don’t need to know where teaching Lagree will take you before you begin. Completing your Level 1 training gives your journey a solid foundation.
What is Lagree Level 1 training?
Level 1 introduces you to the foundations of teaching Lagree. You’ll learn how the method works and how to guide others through a class.
At THW, you’ll spend three days learning with Lagree Master Trainer Sarah Reimann. She’ll help you develop your technique on the machines and practise the skills you need to teach.
Once you complete the required training and pass the assessment, you’ll receive your official Level 1 certification.
